A London based investor was keen to broaden his student property portfolio into the Midlands.
We had several meetings to discuss his strategy, budget, and to review the investment case in numerous key university towns and cities. Following this, we sourced a run down block of 39 student apartments with commercial units on the ground floor, and renovated all of the upper floors against a tight schedule to create luxury ensuite rooms which were fully let out within a month of the project finishing.
The project was then refinanced, at a value 60% higher than the original purchase price, giving the investor a substantial war chest to go and buy more property. Recently, we’ve also overseen the renovation of the ground floor into four high spec studios, which also fully let off plan for 20/21.
